Swiss Moth Training in Port Camargue

15In the South of France this past weekend a group of Swiss, French, and Spanish moth sailors gathered to get some much needed time on the water. The sailors enjoyed a good range of conditions and the benefits of having on the water coaching from Jean-Marc Monnard of Europ’ Sails. We had a total of 12 sailors representing 3 countries. A few were new to sailing the moth and some that were getting back into the boat after a long winter. One of the newest mothies, waiting for his Mach2 boat to arrive, was Philippe Presti, Team Oracle Coach. Arnaud Psarofaghis was kind enough to let Philippe take his Mach2 for a spin!

There were many different goals that each sailor had in mind during the weekend. Anything from getting his boat set up properly, looking at sail shape, but the most important was time in the boat and working on those tough foiling tacks. The weekend closed on Monday with most of the sailors packing up and heading back home.

We could not have done this without the support of Société Nautique de Genève, Swiss Sailing and the Swiss Moth Class Association. We would like to thank the UCPA‘s staff for allowing us to use their beautiful facility in Port Camargue! We already look forward to going back next year.

Check out this video with an interview with Philippe Presti! Includes footage from his first sail on the moth!!
