Early Ending for Act 5

imageUnfortunately the wind Gods had decided to end Act 5 of the EFG MothEuroCup early. The wind never materialized today, so the PRO decided to call it a day early. Sailors packed up their boats and by noon the prize giving was in full swing. Thanks to our sponsors Slam, Immac, Mach2 and EFG there were plenty of prizes for everyone. In addition another set of checks were handed to the top three of the event. For the fourth time it was EFG team rider Chris Rast accepting the Euro 1000 check for 1st place, closely followed by Ben Paton who received Euro 500. His second podium finish this year, after his near win at Act 2 in Medemblik, Holland. Third place and with that a Euro 300 check went to Nils Akervall from Sweden. Nils has shown impressive progress throughout the year and the handsome Swede is not afraid to tell people that he has his eyes set on getting all the way to the top! As always the British sailors showed a very strong overall performance, a tribute to their high level of moth sailing in the U.K..

Also note worthy is Max Maege that finished 6th overall with his brand new Mach2. Max sailed fast and smart and is clearly the up-and coming mothie in the German Moth fleet.

A big thank you goes out to the Wassersport Club am Wittensee with Eike Dietrich organizing everything on land and shore, together with Carlo Maege, the German Moth Class president.

Final Results

Our next and final Act is just around the corner. Act 6 will take place in Acquafresca on windy lake Garda from the 19th until the 21st of September. We invite all Moth-crazy sailors to come join the racing and enjoy Italian hospitality at the ultimate Act of the EFG MothEuroCup.

See you there!
